topic ECM-HW1R Wireless Microphone - Dead receiver or Hot Shoe? in Camcorders

Hi there!

I have the Sony ECM HW1R Wireless microphone and receiver that I've been using happily with the SR5E Handycam. I've encountered a power issue with the receiver. When it's mounted into the hot shoe and turned on there is no response, and I'm unsure whether it's a problem with the hot shoe power or the receiver itself.

Does anyone have any experience with a seemingly dead receiver? What might be the best way to identify the actual source of the problem?

Thanks in advance!

Richy
