Problems with a330 framing.

I have a Sony a330 camera. But when I frame a picture in the viewfinder, the final image captured has 'moved' a few centimeters to the right. For example, if I take a portrait with someone in the centre of the screen, when I take the picture they have 'moved' and are no longer centred.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Please have a look at the SteadyShot scale in the viewfinder.

look at the info in the manual page 163:

if all five bars of the SteadyShot scale are flashing there might be a defect of the SteadyShot unit.

As the SteadyShot shifts the main image sensor the shift between viewfinder image and final image can be caused by a defective SteadyShot.

Usually the SteadyShot mechanism will also perform a sensor cleaning (by vibration) when turning the camera off. Do you notice that this is not the case on your camera? Does the camera emit a "vibration" sound instead shortly after turing the camera on? (SteadyShot is defective)
