Adapting a NEX 5K for use with telescope

I have a Nex 5k for which i bought an adapter ring (Kippon T-NEX) to fit to my Celestron NexStar 4 telescope However when i try to take a picture i get a message on the camera which says 'cannot recognise lens, attach it properly' can anyone help please

Hi asang2 and welcome to the Sony Users Community.

In normal use the NEX-5 is set for the shutter not to fire unless a lens is attached.

For use with a telescope or non-Sony lens you need to go to Menu -> Setup and set "Release w/o Lens" to 'Enable'.

Very many thanks for the help, that seems to have done the trick, next step the telescope!!
