Factory reset

Hi all, been having trouble with a firmware update. On my a7iv, going from 3.1 to the latest 5.1. So I've heard about doing a factory reset, is it easy and what do I lose?

As an added bonus yesterday whilst trying to do the update. I've now got another problem my shutter button isn't working properly. Any help gratefully appreciated.

I only bought the camera in October, having had an early a7 ver 1 previously for many years.

Hi @Tonydav, what is the first issue that you're trying to perform a factory reset for? Also, can you elaborate more about the shutter issue? What exactly happens?

However, you can try to remove the battery for 2 minutes and insert it back in. Then, initialize the camera as you recommended, you will lose any customizations, and any changed settings will get back to the factory default settings. To be in the safe zone, you can remove the card before initializing.
