I should have said that my walkman is not recognised by my computer. I have followed all the instructions given by the chatbot, but still no success.

I would firstly try a different USB cable, if data lines have issue it won't connect. Does it charge when connected.

Failing that, and checking the port itself is clear from lint or debris, the port itself may be damaged or broken and need a repair.

I have tried a different USB cable and both ends are clean, also the socket on the computer. The computer is almost brand new and the USB port is not damaged.
The battery does charge.
