topic WH 1000 XM5 sound/mic issues (windows 10) in Portable Audio

i currently have the issue on both discord & teamspeak that when i start speaking, there is a “beep” from my headphones and i dont get any sound output anymore. a few seconds after i stop talking i get the “beep” again and i have sound again.
i suspect its that my headphones switch to becoming the microphone and that disables the audio output. i have disabled the headset options in my windows settings (manage input/output devices), i’ve tried resetting and re-pairing my headphones but it didnt fix my issues.

does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?
