Phone randomly restarting

I got this phone about 3 weeks ago, and I've been pretty happy with it. However, I noticed that for the past few days, the phone has been randomly restarting on it's own. The restarts are getting more and more frequent. I don't know if the update caused it, but I did update the phone about a week ago. Are there any known fixes to this issue or should I just return it?

UPDATE:

I just tried to repair the phone using the Xperia Companion app. I'm still having the same issue after installing minimal apps. I think I'm just going to return the phone because I only have 2 days left to do so. This is really disappointing because I actually work for Best Buy and got this phone with a nice discount through an employee accomodation.

Hi @JoeShcmo, sorry to hear about this.

Have you tried removing the SIM and or SD cards from the device? If either of these cards are defect, it can cause the device to restart. I understand it's not optimal to have neither of these cards in the device, but if the reboots occur very frequently, hopefully you are able to test it out.

You can of course also test device in safe mode, just to make sure it's not a downloaded application even if you mentioned that you don't have many applications installed, it can still be one of them that is the culprit.
