Could a mod or someone explain to me why my xa2 has chrome version 74.0.3279.136(includes dark mode) last updated 3rd may

While my friends Xperia 10 chrome version is 73.0.3683.90 last updated 25th march

As he has tried to update to the newer version which I have but it keeps saying his is up to date any help or explanation would be grateful as to why he cannot update

Just to add to this my xa2 is running oreo 8.0 and my friends Xperia 10 is running pie 9.0 we are both wondering if this anything to do with why he cannot update chrome

According to my friend the update for chrome came through this morning he is now on the same build as my xa2
