<STRIKE>Hallo, </STRIKE>

</STRIKE>

Hello,

I installed the New Software Update 3 days ago, and have only had problems with the headphone jack ever since. It only works with a few headphones. My Beats headphone does not accept the phone, it plays the music only from the phone and not from the headphones. I connected the headphones to a different phone and they worked, I tried it on my phone again, but failed again. I restarted the phone several times but it still did not work.

GT

Same problems here:

Since the Oreo update, my phone doesn't recognise my headphones. Few minutes before, they worked perfectly.

Hardware:

Phone: Xperia X (F5121) Android 8.0.0

Headphones: RHA MA600i

I tried these headphones with another phone and they worked. Then I took other headphones, they also worked on my phone.

Furthermore, the RHA MA600i has a button for voice control. As soon as I hold this down, the headphones are detected and everything works. As soon as the button is released again, they stop working and the sound comes from the loudspeakers.

That's why I think, this is some kind of a software bug and not a hardware problem.

Me too. Have restarted, reset etc. but issue is not fixable by user. This is quite a basic issue to have slipped through update testing.

Xperia X (UK), updated recently to Oreo.

Headphones: Sennheiser Momentum (with inline mic)

Have just tested the headphones and phone together using an external DAC plugged into the micro-usb port - headphones worked fine. Definitely a software-hardware issue with the headphone jack not detecting headphones with a certain 3.5mm jack configuration (most that are now incompatible seem to have inline microphones). Please fix this ASAP!

Okay so I did a little tinkering around and agree with what other people are saying about in-line microphones. With my beats they only work when you hold down the Play/Pause control (meaning that it isn't my headphones, nor n helardware issue).

I also tried with a pair of AKG headphones that do not have a line-in microphone and they worked perfectly.

In short, until there is a fix for this you could either hold down your Play/Pause button to listen (which is a pain) or use another pair which does not have any form of in-line mic or playback control.

Could someone else test this theory?

Sony Xperia X F5121 Android v 8.0.0. purchased August 16, 2016. Should be still under warranty, plus I pay for protection with my cellphone provider (Freedom Mobile).

My headphone jack doesn't work properly. Sound cuts in and out if you move the headphone cord a few milimeters out of place. Headphones are Marshall Monitor (wired) and I have already replaced the cord because I thought that the cord was the issue, but it's not that. I tried other headphones (ACM-70 by Cyber Acoustics) cheap ones that I only use at the office, and it is not the cord, but definitely the jack itself.

Any suggestions for repairing the headphone jack?
