@UglyD

No problems with the app also if it is Yahoo related.

I use it from about three years and I haven't any issues from now. Past weekend it has receveid a nwe update that revamps partially the UI, stability and support to Android N (I suppose). Also, in the info, the developers promise more and frequantly updates.

I suggest more and more to use this app, without fear, if you have a lot of shots at 20 or 23 Mpx.

Hi Community,

In my SD card are stored ALL my shots from Camera and other apps like Motiongraph, Background Defocus and also Edited, ALL divided in folders created by me.

My question is: what is the correct procedure to backup my folders (with shots internally), format the SD card and finally restore ALL folders as they are previous?

Thanks!

@uliwooly

I don't undestand as I can re-create the folders if in the actual ones I have all my shots as written before...

However, I will follow your suggestion to transfer the folders in my PC and, after formatted the SD card, transfer them again into it. I hope don't lost nothing.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not so stupid

I also have all my shots on Flickr app (I can storage on it my shots at full 23 Mpx resolution and not limited at 16 Mpx as the bad Google Photo app that has a worse interface too), but this is only a copy for emergency. I want all my shots in SD card as primary use and choice.

I think you might suggest Flickr app for Xperia devices because it allows to backup the shots of 23 Mpx camera at full resolution. My personal though and suggestion.

Thanks again.

@uliwooly

Ok about the transfer of the folders, but what is the correct process to format the SD card of an Android Xperia device?

I mean, format process by Windows or format process directly from the option in the Xperia?

I have proceeded in this way.

1) Unmount the SD card from the device.

Apps > Settings > Storage & memory > 3 dots > Advanced > Storage > SD Card > Unmount.

2) Turn off the device, pull out the SD card, put it into the SD card adaptor and then put it into PC's card slot. Transfer ALL folders with videos and photos in the PC.

3) Pull in the SD card into device, turn it on and format the SD card.

Apps > Settings > Storage & memory > 3 dots > Advanced > Storage > SD Card > 3 dots > Settings > Format > Erase & format.

4) Clean the cache manually, reboot the device and follow the instruction in the notification's panel to install the SD card recognized.

5) Unmount the SD card, turn off the device, pull out the SD card and put it into PC again through SD card adaptor. Transfer ALL folders, saved before, in the SD card again.

6) Pull in the SD card into device and turn it on. All videos and photos could be showed as before format it.

This process is useful in case of errors with the read of SD card or for every major (as Android 5, 6, 7) and mid (as Android 5.1, 6.1, 7.1) sofware/firmware updates. For minor updates (as security patches) there is no need and advantages.

This is my tested - with success - solution and I hope could be useful for others. I am only displease that no one from Sony's support has gave me any answer about considering this is your job...
