Sony Bravia KD-50X80LU Remote Control with Sky Q

Is it possible to use the Sony remote control to control some options on a Sky Q box?

I have a Sony Bravia KD-50X80LU Remote Control and would like to control some features of a Sky Q.

If I press MENU on the Sony remote control, I get options called "Sky Q controls"

With options like Home, Options, Display etc...

Yet when I choose any of those menu options, nothing happens.

Have other people got any advice what to check here?

Has anyone managed to get these menu options to control their Sky Q box?

Make sure that you are enabling the Bravia Sync so you can control other devices with the TV remote control, only for HDMI connected devices.

My Bravia Sync Settings options are.

Auto devices off is enabled

Auto TV on is enabled

I have enabled each device in the Bravis Sync device list

However, BRAVIA Sync control is not available and states "Not available while BRAVIA Sync compatible audio system is used"

I have a Sony HT-CT370 Soundbar fitted between the TV and the Sky Q box.

Linked via the eArc/ARC ports.

@seanclarke is this the first time you try to connect them? Also make sure the software update to v6.7612 Try to test another HDMI cable if possible
