Sony Smart TV Android KD-55XE8096 keep freezing, and requires hard reset

Hello,

I have a Sony Smart TV Android KD-55XE8096.

Lately it keeps freezing, and will no longer respond on remote or tv buttons.

Even if i remove from power outlet for minutes, still frozen.

The only way to have the tv useable, is to perform hard reset/factory reset: keep pressing tv buttons: "power" and "minus sign" while connecting tv to power outlet.

Various frozen behaviours:

- display SONY logo, and does nothing (led not powering on)

- blank screen (no backlight, like it has no power at all, no led)

- black screen, with led still powered (backlight is clearly visible)

NOTE: Every time a hard reset is performed, tv will restart and wipe data twice.

Example - first start, will let me config stuff, and then in a random time between 1 min and 5 min, will write again "erasing" and will re-perform hard reset.

I have latest firmware for this tv 7165, installed a couple of years ago.

So basically to hard reset the tv i lose ~10 to 20min.

I need help:

- Is there a known fix for the issue?

- Can i downgrade/rewrite firmware? Maybe is corrupted?

- If i go to service - what do i tell them to do? Change what?

- Is there any way to backup config from tv, and restore?

- How can i force TV OS t o reboot without hard reset?

Hey Cosminh0, did you try to reset the TV from the settings not by forcing it? Also, what do you have connected to the TV?
