I posted my comment on both sites as this is not about the product, but about the appalling support given by Sony Europe. I feel the community as a whole should be aware of these issues. I have bought other Sony products abroad and I have not had to resort to requesting support from Sony Europe - thank goodess!

After about a month, my new mobile stopped working and I think I let the battery run down too much. I followed the Sony support instructions for self-help which revived the phone, but I could not get past the gmail sign-in. I told Sony it was in warranty, purchased a month previously in Abu Dhabi and they were happy for me to send it to them for repair under warranty. It was quickly returned as fixed. Also, I had to send my charger and cable as well, but this came back as a very worn-out set and not my brand new set. On first use, the mobile kept crashing out and re-starting so I returned it again. It was sent back as unusable and I was told it could not be repaired as it was not a european model and had already been opened so not in warranty! The only people to have opened it was Sony themselves and they accepted it originally knowing it was a foreign purchase! It looks as though Sony made a mess of my mobile and I have no redress. After all, it is their mobile regardless of where it is purchased. By the time I return to Abu Dhabi, the warranty will have expired and perhaps they will say this mobile has been illegally opened. I don't understand why Sony are so negative. If the european centre cannot fix it why don't they send it to a Sony centre where it can be fixed, and I would be happy to pay any postage charges. All my main products are Sony, but looks like I need to change.

I had the same problems with Sony too, they messed up my phone and did not care whatsoever! Their customer services is absolutely SHOCKING. I have brought another manufactureer's phone instead at the end.

Surely, Sony is a globle company and yet, how could they are so small minded? All Sony products should be under international warranty, doesn't matter where did you buy them! Why are big coporate companies always bullying small people? This is just heartless!
