xperia ZX1 compact Bluetooth not connecting

I've just got the xz1 compact. I manage to pair the phone with my car but it won't connect. I've performed a software update and restarted the phone. Any ideas how to solve this issue? Didn't have a problem with my previous z5 compact.

Hi,

I had this problem too. To "fix" you need to turn on "developer options" (if you don't know how, Google will help).

Then, under developer options, search for Bluetooth AVRCP-version and try one of the lower versions. Both v1.4 and v1.5 worked for me. Seems like the v1.5 that it defaults to isn't backwards compatible.

Hi Janne_E,

Thank you for your very helpful message in December 17 which sorted my bluetooth problem out. However, my phone did an automatic update last week and the problem has returned. I have been back in to developer options and tried setting bluetooth to all the different versions v1.4, v1.5 and v1.6 but unfortunately the phone does not connect anymore. Have you had the same problem? Do you have any suggestions?

Delete the existing pairing, change to 1.4 again (if you havent already), then re-pair. You may need to restart the handset too. Let us know how you get on.

Hi, Thanks for your reply but this has not worked. I've tried all different versions of bluetooth and restarted the phone several times too. Any other ideas please? Thanks

Thanks for your advice neyzen. i have switched off all location permissions for all apps, restarted the phone and unfortunately the problem still persists. The car says connection complete when pairing but the phone just stays looking grey and says 'pairing..........' but it never completes the pairing.
