As long as it's software from SE, it will not void your warranty---who told you this anyway? There are different codec sub-types of .mp3 formats, so I suggest you use the converter to switch to AAC or .mp4/m4u, which are supposedly improved format versions of the .mp3

Hey guys, i need a little help over here. So, I bought one Sony Ericsson W100 and i've transfered some musics to my memory card. However, some musics are having problems, in other words, they don't play. I checked the files, all of then are .mp3, but it isn't the problem, once i tried other .mp3 that worked. If I 'put' this music that doesn't play at walkman, as ringtone and call my cellphone, it plays! I tried rename the files and another memory card, but i got nothing. (Sorry for my english, i am brazilian)

Updating the software will not void the warranty. If Media Go doesn't work after a software update, you can try something like Switch, an audio file format converter which you can download to your PC, use it to convert file formats and then transfer the converted music files back to your phone.

So, are u sure it won't void the warranty? Then I will try it. I will download a converter, but as i said, it was .mp3, it should work right?

Thank you very much.
