I am informing anyone living in the Republic of Ireland that Sony do not extend WiFi calling on any of their phones in Ireland.

This fact was established after I went through a complaint process with Comreg the Irish Telecoms Regulator.

Sony told me a sequence of mistruths their Customer Service Team and technicians over several months. They tried to blame Three my Operator about this. Three released correspondence to me and the Regulator they received from Sony as part of the complaint process

So, there you have it. Don't bother buying a Xperia handset if you live in Ireland and expect it to be WiFi enabled.

Letting others know about this

Hi @conchurryan

What I know is Wi-Fi calling is a network operator related service and it has to have a customised software from the same network operator that you will have the Wi-Fi calling service with in order to use this service.

Which model are you facing the issue with?
