M2 shuts down and restarts after opening camera

remove the SD card and boot in >>> safe mode > settings > apps > camera > clear data > report back.

Hi @metalgaga, I'm sorry to hear about your phone.

Just to make sure that I understand your troubles correctly, does the phone restart directly after opening the camera application in the phone or can you take a few photos or record a video before it restarts?

Do you receive any error messages prior to the phone restarting, and does it start up directly again or do you have to press and hold volume up and ON/OFF button?

Was there any improvement after removing the SD card, rebooting to safe mode or clearing data for the camera application that @uliwooly suggested?

Hi there,

Thanks for the acknowledgement.

Right after clicking the camera, it has some error message, then upon pressing the home button, it will hang up then restart immediately. Please help

Did you experience the same behaviour when the phone was rebooted in safe mode and the SD card was unmounted from your phone?

If you did, I would recommend performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage of your phone so I recommend creating a backup using Xperia Companion first.

If you haven't tried safe mode and removing the SD card, please do and report back!
