Doubletaps during text writing #Xperia L3

Hi, i have problem with writing texts or messages . When im writing some text, sometimes it doubletaps that gives me for example ,,hhelp,, . It is a little bit annoying. It looks like software problem because everything else works well. Do someone have idea how to fix it?

Hi @Gregi, sorry to hear about this.

Do you experience double taps anywhere else in the phone, for example in the settings or while dialing a number or is it just while typing on the keyboard?

If the behavior only occurs while typing, try clearing the data for the keyboard app (swiftkey) on your phone. Doing this will reset all settings for the keyboard app which might do the trick. In order to do this, find and tap Settings > Apps & notifications > See all XX apps > Swiftkey > Clear data.

Try this and let me know how it goes!

Hello, I cleaned data of swiftkey and unfortunately I still have this problem 🙁. I checked it, and this one appears during typing phone number. As I noticed , this problem doesnt exist when im typing with only one hand.. I mean it seems to be a fault with multitouch maybe? As i saw on the some website , it is exactly multitouch bug on android 8.1 oreo. Is it possibile? I tried to repair android, restarting, and many other solutions and nothing helped. In my mind it is the most reliable reason. I can't believe that it is procesor problem because It is really news phone. Anyway thanks for help.

Do you experience this issue when you are touching the back of the phone or when the phone it's laying on a table/flat surface?

Hi, it does not matter what phone position has. I noticed that sometimes when i am deleting last letter in text , it types the last letter I had written. I am going to give away for guarantees. Thanks for help.

Hi again @Gregi,

One thing that you can try before deciding to hand your phone in to a service center is to try another keyboard app, for example Gboard in order to see if another keyboard app will work better than the pre-installed one.

I am actually using a gboard. This keyboard app is much better for me but anyway I am writing double letters🙁.

Fortunetely autocorrect is working well. If it was not working well it would be hard to write something fast. I feel this problem the most when im typing fast.

I'm also facing the multi touch problem on this phone!

Have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned erlier in the thread? Also, are you using the pre-built keyboard app (swiftkey) or a downloaded one?

Yes, I tried everything. My current keyboard is Gboard. There is also multi touch issueses in games where you need to control with all thrumbs simultaneously.

How tto repair it? Im using gboard but on swiftkey threre is the same probleem.

@Rastamaniacand @Annanikol , do you have any screen protector mounted on the device that might interfere with the touchscreen? Also, have you been able to carry out a quick test of the touch screen to see if the hardware works as intended? Find and tap Settings > Support > Xperia Tests > Touchscreen.

I have done test and everythig seems good. I had screen glass but removed it because i thought it was problem but not. Mostly it happens whhen typping fast. Also multitouch keeps crashing while used in games. I think its screen's multitouch problem.

I was about to do the same with gllass. Warranty did not help. Service has installed Android one more time with no effect. Sometimes even when i want to delete llast letter it types llast letter instead of delete. Can be the CPU of thiis phone too slow for typing ? I do not think so. In my opinion it is defect somewhere in CPU or in connection CPU with data. It is really annoying when I cannot write message as fast as I can.
