Love my new Sony 55a90j but have noticed in really dark scenes or underwater, get the occasional swirl effect, like a ripple in a pond, is that due to the source or a setting I could tweak.

Or is the real black scenes still a struggle for even the newer TV's.

Also wondered if I ditch my sky and put the lnb back to the old sky plus,will I get Freesat hd on my TV, via the dish.

Hi Murphy, I recommend checking out Sony's definitive guide for the perfect TV settings from this link. If you're watching TV from an external device like a Sky box, I'd recommend setting your HDMI signal format to Enhanced format here. Actually, this TV supports and is compatible with the built in Freesat app as specified here. I hope this helps.
